ITIL 4 Managing Professional Transition Course
The ITIL 4 MP Transition course is designed to enable ITIL Experts or ITIL v3 candidates who have already invested to easily transition across to ITIL 4. They can gain the designation of ITIL 4 Managing Professional through one course and one exam.
The purpose of the ITIL 4 MP Transition module is to provide candidates with an understanding of the:
A. Core concepts and definitions of ITIL 4 Foundation, including the key differences between the previous iteration of ITIL and ITIL 4 and how they can be practically applied.
B. Key elements from each one of the four ITIL Managing Professional (MP) modules: Create, Deliver and Support, Drive Stakeholder Value, High Velocity IT and Direct, Plan and Improve.
ITIL 4 MP Transition Course Target Audience
The training for ITIL 4 MP Transition module is targeted towards all practitioners with significant experience in IT service management and wish to develop their knowledge and application skills for ITIL 4.
For taking the ITIL 4 MP Transition exam, a candidate must hold the ITIL Expert certificate or a minimum of 17 credits from the ITIL v3 Foundation and Intermediate/Practitioner modules.
ITIL 4 Foundation can be accepted to replace ITIL v3 Foundation, plus 15 credits from ITIL Intermediate/Practitioner modules.
ITIL 4 MP Transition Course Content
The ITIL MP Transition module comprises the core elements of the following modules:
1. ITIL 4 Foundation
2. ITIL 4 Specialist: Create, Deliver and Support
3. ITIL 4 Specialist: Drive Stakeholder Value
4. ITIL 4 Specialist: High Velocity IT
5. ITIL 4 Strategist: Direct Plan and Improve
Module2 : ITIL 4 Specialist: Create, Deliver and Support
This module covers the ‘core’ service management activities and expands the current scope of ITIL to cover the ‘creation’ of services. This module focuses on the integration of different value streams and activities to create, deliver and support IT-enabled products and services whilst also covering supporting practices, methods and tools.
This module will also cover service performance and will give practitioners an understanding of service quality and improvement methods.
It will enable IT practitioners to continue to deliver innovative yet reliable tech-enabled services to their customers in an increasingly competitive market.
ITIL 4 Specialist Create, Deliver and Support is aimed at ITSM practitioners managing the operation of IT-enabled & digital products and services, and those responsible for the end-to-end delivery. Accredited training for the ITIL Managing Professional modules is mandatory to enable full understanding of the core material.
Module 3 : ITIL 4 Specialist: Drive Stakeholder Value
This module covers all types of engagement and interaction between a service provider and their customers, users, suppliers and partners. It focuses on the conversion of demand into value via IT enabled services.
The module covers key topics such as SLA design, multi-supplier management, communication, relationship management, CX and UX design, customer journey mapping, and more.
It will provide candidates with the tools to increase stakeholder satisfaction which is integral to business success in the current competitive landscape.
ITIL4 Specialist Drive Stakeholder Value is aimed at practitioners responsible for managing and integrating stakeholders, those that focus on customer journey and experience, and those that are responsible for fostering relationships with partners and suppliers.
Module 4 : ITIL 4 Specialist: High Velocity IT
This module explores the ways in which digital organizations and digital operating models function in high velocity environments. It will help aspiring organizations, to operate in a similar way to successful digitally-native organizations.
This module includes the use of working practices such as Agile and Lean, and technical practices and technologies such as Cloud, Automation, and Automatic Testing, focusing on rapid delivery of products & services to obtain maximum value.
ITIL4 Specialist High Velocity IT is aimed at IT managers and practitioners involved in digital services or digital transformation projects working within or towards high velocity environments. Accredited training for the ITIL Managing Professional modules is mandatory to enable full understanding of the core material.
Module 5 : ITIL 4 Strategist: Direct Plan and Improve
This module provides individuals with the practical skills necessary to create a ‘learning and improving’ IT organization, with a strong and effective strategic direction.
The module covers the influence and impact of Agile and Lean ways of working, and how they can be leveraged to an organization’s advantage.
It will provide practitioners with a practical and strategic method for planning and delivering continual improvement with necessary agility.
ITIL 4 Strategist Direct Plan and Improve is aimed at managers of all levels involved in shaping direction and strategy or developing a continually improving team. It will cover both practical and strategic elements.
Therefore, it is the universal module, that will be a key component of both, ITIL 4 Managing Professional and ITIL 4 Strategic Leader streams.
Accredited training for the ITIL Managing Professional modules is mandatory to enable full understanding of the core material.
ITIL 4 MP Transition Exam
► Prerequisite: ITIL Expert certificate or a minimum of 17 credits from the ITIL v3
Foundation and Intermediate/Practitioner modules.
► Exam Duration: 90 minutes, candidates taking the exam in a language that is not their native or working language may be awarded 25% extra time, that is 113 minutes in total.
► Bloom’s Taxonomy: Level 2 and 3
► Open Book/Closed Book: Closed Book
► No./Type of Questions: 40 multiple choice questions, which present four options from which one option is selected.
There are 23 questions at Bloom’s Level 2 = approx. 57.5%
There are 17 questions at Bloom’s Level 3 = approx. 42.5%
► Provisional Pass mark: 70% or higher (28 correct answers)
